Summary

Jesus demonstrates that he is not the hapless victim of his enemies, but in complete control of offering his life for many. Astoundingly, he reformulates the Passover meal blessings, giving of his body and his blood, while celebrating with those who would betray and desert him. When we partake of the Lord's supper today, it is in part a reminder that we were sinners when Jesus saved us.
