Summary

When people ask you how you are doing, what’s your “go-to” reply? I tend to respond, “I’m doing fine, but I’m just busy.” Unfortunately, that response comes out of my mouth without me even thinking much about it. But it’s not because it is untrue, but rather because it is perennially true! The solution to our busyness is as varied and as personal as the causes for our busyness. There are many factors and issues that contribute to each of our busy lives. However, there is a spiritual discipline that God has given all of us to counter that busyness. It is the weekly discipline of the Sabbath rest. But what was God’s original intent for the Sabbath? Is it still morally binding on us today? If not, then does it apply at all to us? And if so, how?
